Working within i-like
i-like is funded by the first ever EPSRC programme grant in Statistics. We believe this provides a unique postdoc opportunity for talented young statistical researchers with an interest in collaborative research.
The project will investigate a wide range of statistical and computational approaches to intractable likelihood, including the development of theory, methodology and applications in a wide range of areas (including genetics and genomics, infectious disease epidemiology, ecology, commerce and bibliometrics). Postdocs will work in a number of these areas on collaborative projects. While many applicants will have some expertise which is relevant to one or more of these areas, we encourage applicants with proven research ability in other areas of statistics to apply also.
After appointment, successful applicants will be formally employed at either Warwick, Bristol, Lancaster or Oxford. However i-like is a highly collaborative project, and all appointed postdocs will be expected to travel regularly to one or more of the participating institutions. We are particularly keen to appoint individuals with a desire to engage broadly across the themes of the project, and to work closely with two or more of the project management team and other postdocs. Postocs will enjoy the benefits of the exciting i-like research environment as well as that of their host institution. The project has also included many world-leading researchers as collaborators on the project, as listed here, and postocs will have ample opportunities to meet with and collaborate with these individuals.
